Understanding Justice 101 provides a practical and thought-provoking exploration of the American criminal justice system. Designed for introductory college students, the book explains how crime is defined and measured, why crime occurs, and how cases move through law enforcement, the courts, and correctional systems. It introduces major criminological theories, victimology, constitutional protections, criminal law, policing practices, courtroom roles, sentencing, institutional and community corrections, juvenile justice, and reentry.
In this experiment, the independent variable was the starting pHs (4, 6, 8) with pH 6 as control. The dependent variable was yeast growth and pH change over time. These results partially support our hypothesis and show that environmental pH can influence yeast growth and survival. Which may help us understand conditions associated with women’s health and yeast infections.

This is a biology research poster on how soaking sweet corn kernels in a 1% chitosan solution impacts the plant’s stress response gene, peroxidase (POX). Although the our experiment had some issues with the RNA extraction and we got a band size that was larger than expected, we talked about steps for the process in the future and we think a dose-response study is the best followup once everything is fully certified.
The purpose of this experiment was to determine the effects of sucrose, Monk Fruit, Stevia, and Zero Cal sweeteners on yeast growth and fermentation over four weeks. Yeast exposed to sucrose demonstrated the highest cell growth, while fermentation was slightly prominent in the beginning, but then stopped.
This study compared CO₂ production and protein concentration across four flour types and a sucrose control, and found that protein content did not predict yeast fermentation rate.

Ghost energy drink produced the most CO₂, even more than the 20% sucrose control, suggesting it contains ingredients that support yeast fermentation. In contrast, Monster, Bang, and Alani showed very little fermentation, likely due to inhibitory additives like caffeine and sucralose.
Our research question was: How has armoring impacted the erosion of soft sediments at Whatcom? County? We sought to find differences in erosional processes between different types of armoring, since there seems to be a correlation between larger and less permeable armoring systems and higher ecological impact.
