Abstract
The film explores the living treasures of the Salish Sea on the West Coast of Canada and the U.S.A., (B.C. & Wash.) and describes local resistance to the corporate fossil fuel agenda that worsens the climate crisis and threatens local ecology. Exploring the rich bio-diversity of our local waters, diver and environmental activist Sarama portrays the ecosystem that communities are working hard to protect from inappropriate industrial development. Glorious underwater footage and interviews with environmentalists, scientists, and Indigenous people reveal the evolving story of our Salish Sea and humanity at the crossroads of the climate crisis.

The Government of Prime Minister Trudeau announced an agreement to purchase the project from Kinder Morgan, May 29, 2018. Opposition to the Trans Mountain/ex-Kinder Morgan pipeline expansion is widely held, including 22 municipalities, dozens of environmental groups and many First Nations along the pipeline route. This Living Salish Sea film includes a seldom explored dimension of the ongoing dispute - an intimate exploration of the marine biology in the affected coastal area.
