The Whatcom County Historical Society hosted a live-streamed presentation on Thurs., March 11, 2021, 7:30-9pm with Anna Booker, history instructor at Whatcom Community College. Booker shared results from year one of the 2020-2022 National Endowment for the Humanities grant-funded projects titled "Situating Ourselves in the Salish Sea: Using Experiential Learning" and "Storytelling to Inspire Critical Thinking about Place." She talked about the Salish Sea Virtual Lab developed by a team of scholars at Western Washington University and Whatcom Community College to support experiential learning in the virtual environment. Be inspired by a curriculum that helps students make sense of their surroundings and build meaningful connections across disciplines, campuses, and borders.
